The inspection, cleaning and repair of punctual failures are the three most common operations to be carried out during the useful life of the irrigation pipes.

The repair of pipes is essential because the existence of breakdowns and leaks in the irrigation networks is synonymous ofa high costs. It is necessary to modernize the traditional irrigation systems, implementing new technologies or renewing networks that have significant water losses, which will allow the optimization of the water resources available to the sector. The modernization process improves significantly the efficiency of the irrigation infrastructures and equipments.

This project contemplates the replacement of reinforced concrete DN700 mm pipes (without sheet chamber) that were in bad conditions, by DN800 mm PN16 TOM® PVC pipes. The network covers an irrigable area of 3,000 Ha.

Molecor obra DN800 Arroyo de Calomonte

In this age of technology and knowledge, research, innovation and development applied to irrigation are necessary. The European Union sets as its claim intelligent growth and increased efficiency in the use of resources. The Water and Irrigation Policy, which develops the Hydrological Plans and the respective Rural Development Programs, defines the possibilities and needs in terms of water use, public irrigation strategies and other measures in the sector such as the agro-environmental ones.

Molecor once again stands out in its sector, surpassing the existing product range barriers, becoming the first company capable of manufacturing DN800 mm Oriented PVC Pipes. The company had already become an important reference in the water industry with the manufacture of DN500 and 630 mm PVC-O pipes. However, the high degree of adaptability of its technology, coupled with the continuous commitment to innovation and development, has enabled Molecor to expand its product range, thus responding to one of its main objectives, to provide innovative solutions that satisfy the needs of the market.

Molecular orientation provides TOM® PVC-O pipes with significant advantages in the quality of the product, its installation and use; offering a better behavior of respect for the environment, presenting a better environmental footprint than other materials, thus improving the contribution to the correct sustainable development of the planet, and optimizing the consumption of natural resources.

Applied to pressure pipelines, a high mechanical and chemical resistance pipe is achieved, thus providing a long service life. The watertightness it brings to the system in the driving, avoids leaks and, therefore, water losses, that would reduce the volume of supplied water.
