Molecor et Powen signent un PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) pour garantir l'autoconsommation à long terme dans leur usine de Loeches (Madrid)

Molecor joins the list of companies that seek to be 100% sustainable

Molecor is a pioneering Spanish company specialized in the development of Molecular Orientation technology applied to pressurized water pipes. Among its values of Corporate Social Responsibility is the commitment to the environment, obtaining the ISO 14001 certificate that accredits an efficient environmental management system.

Powen, a Spanish company specialized in energy self-consumption based on solar installations, has signed a PPA with Molecor Tecnología to guarantee long-term self-consumption of its factory in Loeches, in Madrid.

Molecor and Powen have signed a PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) based on a photovoltaic installation that will be commissioned in July at the Loeches factory and will save them the need to make an initial investment. This installation in PPA mode is a great possibility for many companies, since it is a long-term agreement for the sale of 100% sustainable energy that does not require initial investment. Those companies that, due to manufacturing and/or logistics issues require large amounts of electricity, will not only reinforce their commitment to the environment, but will also have a stable long-term investment in energy consumption.

With the development of this project, Molecor reaffirms its commitment to the environment while complying with Sustainable Development Goal No. 7: Affordable and Non-Pollutant Energy for the manufacture of its TOM® pipes and ecoFITTOM® Oriented PVC fittings. Making them increasingly sustainable products; since they are already the ones that consume the least energy throughout their life cycle, with lower greenhouse gas emissions and therefore, those with the lowest Carbon Footprint compared to alternative materials.

This SDG is also directly related to SDG No. 13: Adopt urgent measures to combat climate change and its effects, guaranteeing access to energy, making it an affordable service for all citizens. Both objectives with which Molecor will comply with the implementation of these solar installations that will guarantee energy self-consumption. This fact has a direct impact on the benefits and advantages presented by both the pipes and the accessories manufactured by Molecor.

Photovoltaic solar energy has proven to be a key element in achieving energy efficiency in any type of company. The industrial sector, as a general rule, has large facilities to carry out its activity, which implies a large energy consumption. However, these same infrastructures have the ideal surface for the installation of photovoltaic panels that guarantee their self-sufficiency.

Due to the increase in the efficiency of the facilities, the demand for renewable energy is increasing by leaps and bounds. More and more companies choose to go hand in hand with Powen to obtain a 100% renewable electricity supply that complies with the European commitments agreed in the European Strategy 2020.
