Water shortage is one of the major challenges that humanity has to deal with currently, and the main threat in the near future. Only 1% of the water on Earth is fresh water, which means that it can be used both, by industries to develop their activities and by humanity for its survival.  Moreover, the unequal distribution of available water resources intensifies the necessity of catching people´s attention and increasing their environmental awareness. For this reason, the Worldwide Water Day is celebrated every 22nd March.

With the aim of eradicating this huge problem, several ecological measures have been taken in different fields. In the case of our sector, canalizations and technology applied to pipes manufacture, the use of PVC-O stands out as the material from which pipes are made of. Nowadays, these pipes are the most ecological solution for under-pressure water conveyance. Its use results in a lower risk of water leakages and a higher optimization of limited water resources.

Molecor© bets on innovation and works every day researching and developing the Molecular Orientation technology applied to canalizations of water under pressure. The breakthroughs attained up to date hold us as leaders of the sector and had allowed us the only company in the world able to manufacture Class 500 PVC-O pipes up to DN 800mm. The lower thickness of these pipe´s wall increases the hydraulic capacity while using fewer resources, both materials and energetic.

The protection of the limited available water resources means taking certain actions as avoiding canalised water losses and making good use of the wastewater that we produce in ourselves, for what the hydraulic network optimisation is needed. Both, the modernisation and the choice of materials are key factors to attain these challenges.

The molecular orientation process increases considerably the pipes hydraulic capacity, due to the increase of their internal section. Besides, the load losses are lower since their inner surface is extremely smooth and therefore the transport can be faster, increasing the network capacity and significantly lowering the energy consumption during the pumping.

Sustainability is essential for Molecor, for which me have a great commitment and respect to the environment when we manufacture our PVC-O pipes, which are considered the most ecological in the world. These pipes are more efficient, increase energy saving and reduce the environmental footprint, contributing to the sustainable development of the planet. Moreover, their lower CO2 emissions reduce the impact on the climate change.

Under the slogan “Orienting the future”, Molecor© continuous innovating to improve and offer the most efficient, ecological and sustainable solutions to society.
