The XXIII edition of the International Water and Irrigation Show, great technological display and reference point for the professionals of the sector, took place from 7th to 9th March, 2017. The contest was backed up, not only with the presence of the most prestigious companies of the market, but also by numerous and important deals and alliances with the main institutions, associations and entities linked to the water industry worldwide.

SMAGUA 2017, ended up with a great balance in which we can highlight the presence of 20,050 professionals related to the water solutions and irrigation sectors. It consisted of a showcase to exhibit products from more than 540 different brands, of which 330 were not from Spain. The unanimous backing of the water sector and the important bet on technology and innovation have turned into the real axis of the contest, in which the trends and new technological projects related to the water and environment industry have been shown.

Molecor attended this edition with the intention of showing first-hand the latest developments achieved, among we can highlight the ecoFITTOM® PVC-O fittings, the first fittings in this material worldwide that have been awarded by the jury with the denomination Outstanding Technical Novelty.

Moreover, within the frame of activities developed during the event, it was the Technical Conference on the Spanish experience in irrigation modernization, organized by the Spanish Association of Irrigation and Drainage (AERyD) in which, Mr. Marcos Rincón, from Molecor, participated giving the speech “Analysis of materials used in irrigation modernizations”. The aim of this paper was to promote the establishment of technical and commercial relations among Spanish companies and institutions, as well as governments and agencies from other countries with interests in the irrigation field. Delegations from Peru, Romania and Turkey composed by senior ministerial positions attended this presentation, together with members of their diplomatic corps and the most prestigious business associations, public administrations, universities and other national entities.

Molecor, in its commitment to the environment, develops more and more efficient and sustainable systems. This fact was reflected with the technical presentation given by Mrs. Yolanda Martinez, “The environmental footprint in sustainable networks of PVC-O”.

Without any doubt, a great technological showcase where there was only room for the most cutting-edge infrastructures and equipment on the market, which shows the potential of SMAGUA as a reference show of the water industry.
