World Water Day 2025 is approaching, and for another year, Molecor is joining this celebration to address the growing water crisis. With projections indicating a significant increase in water stress in the coming years, the company reinforces its commitment to innovative and sustainable solutions.

Disturbing facts about water trends

Access to safe drinking water and the management of water resources are issues of global concern. According to the most recent UN reports, the situation is expected to worsen in the coming years due to several factors:

  • The number of people living in water-scarce areas will increase, affecting billions worldwide.
  • Climate change will continue to intensify drought and flooding patterns, exacerbating water insecurity.
  • Population growth and industrialization will increase demand for water, putting additional pressure on water resources.
  • Water-related geopolitical tensions are expected to intensify.

Molecor: Innovation and sustainability for a secure water future

Against this challenging backdrop, Molecor is committed to providing innovative and sustainable solutions to ensure a more secure water future. Through technology and sustainability, Molecor is working on different fronts to mitigate the effects of climate change.

  • Develop and promote technologies that improve water use efficiency and reduce losses in distribution networks.
  • Promote the adoption of sustainable materials such as PVC-O, which minimize environmental impact and ensure the durability of water infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with governments, organizations and communities to implement comprehensive solutions that address local water challenges.
  • Raise public awareness of the importance of responsible water use.

PVC-O: Molecor's sustainable solution for SDG 6

One of the United Nations actions is to support Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6: water and sanitation for all by 2030. Due to the very nature of the company and its products, for Molecor the main SDG is also SDG 6, so it is committed to “Ensure availability of water and its sustainable management and sanitation for all” by 2030, through its PVC-O products.

Molecor's environmental responsibility

Molecor has been a member of Operation Clean Sweep (OCS) since 2020. This program (OCS) is a worldwide voluntary initiative of the plastics industry, whose objective is to avoid the unintentional loss of plastic particles to the environment, preventing the appearance of microplastics and pellets in oceans and water basins.

Molecor, assuming the responsibility derived from its productive activity in the manufacture of PVC pipes and fittings in this issue, and as part of the value chain of the plastics industry, is #industrycommitted to the preservation of ecosystems.

Continuous commitment

Molecor reaffirms its commitment to work tirelessly to ensure that water is an accessible and sustainable resource for present and future generations.

The company invites everyone to join this global effort by adopting responsible water use practices and supporting initiatives that promote the sustainable management of water resources.
