In Molecor©, since first day, we have clear that commitment to the Environment was among our priorities being a fundamental part in our values. We are aware that an improvement in the present, could result in an opportunity in the future and that the environment preservation is a joint fight and a victory for all.
We understand Environment as the set of living beings and objects, water, ground and air, and the relations among them. It implies, even, intangible elements as the culture. Hence, that the ONU organization, countries from the five continents, and companies from all the world, among them Molecor©, concede so much importance to this day.
There are numerous ways by which Molecor© shows its commitment to the Environment. The technology developed by Molecor© and its application to manufacture TOM® PVC-O pipes are a clear example of it. With our technology it has been possible to develop a wide range of products from 90 to DN 800 mm in nominal pressures 12.5, 16, 20 and 25 bar, having been the first company in the world to manufacture pipes of 500, 630 and 800 mm in this material. This diversity of range enables to find the best alternative, not only in the technical and economical aspect, but also in the environmental (increasingly influential when making business decisions) for the hydrological networks design, besides development of new markets.
The water tightness that our pipes afford to the conduction systems, avoids leakages, therefore water losses, what would result in a decrease of the volume of water supplied. TOM® pipes high quality, backed up by several international certifications, permits an optimization of the hydrological resources and ensures a higher durability of the pipes.
In the last months, following the methodology of the last recommendation of the European Comission (2013/179/UE) for the calculation of the product environmental footprint (PEF), we have done the life cycle analysis (ACV) of our pipes. We have studied all the stages from the raw materials extraction to the final product use, including all the process as manufacturing, distribution and their different applications. The study results will be obtained in a short time.
