Molecor shows its awareness and commitment to the environment by joining Valobat

The construction sector generates approximately 42 million tons of waste per year. This figure can only change if we all work together to reduce the impact on the environment. To this end, France has the AGEC Law, February 10, 2020, to fight against waste and promote the circular economy, with the aim of recycling more and more waste from mass consumer products, including packaging.

From January 1, 2023 and in accordance with Article R.543-290-3 of the Environmental Code, manufacturers of Building and Construction Products and Materials (BCPMs) must assume their obligations with respect to Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for the release of these products on the market.

For this reason, Molecor, as a manufacturer of BCPMs, has joined Valobat, an eco-organization created by construction companies for all actors (manufacturers, distributors, importers) in the building sector in order to implement the EPR of this sector.

As a company highly committed to the environment and sustainability, Molecor carries out different actions and therefore, this initiative is in line with the company's values and reinforces its policy on efficient and sustainable consumption and proper waste management.

One of the duties of assuming this Extended Producer Responsibility (ERP) consists of paying an eco-contribution for the tonnage of BCPMs placed on the market as of May 1, 2023. The purpose of this eco-contribution is to finance the prevention, collection, removal and treatment of BCPMs waste, as well as the implementation of information, communication actions, research and development aimed at ensuring the recyclability of this waste. This eco-contribution will be reflected in customer invoices and will be referenced in the company's general terms and conditions of sale (GTC).

With this new action, in addition to assuming its responsibility, Molecor shows its commitment to the Circular Economy and contributes to promote recycling and encourages access to more recyclable raw matter.

Thanks to the company's commitment to R&D&I, technological innovation and the continuous development of new products, Molecor becomes a leader in the water sector with a more efficient management of this resource. The fittings and pipes manufactured by Molecor are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with the purpose of achieving a sustainable future for everyone.
